Liner Notes

Without a huge passion for Brazilian music and great feedback from fans, I wouldn't be releasing almost an album a year this past decade.

Therefore, ideas are essential to generate each new project. I have honored great Brazilian and Jazz musicians/composers such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Milton Nascimento, Ernesto Nazareth,
Wayne Shorter and others. This time, I am showing my music on an album exclusively dedicated to it.

For this, there is nothing better than being able to count on a group of wonderful musicians who have recorded with me in my most recent projects. They are really excellent, so I also dedicate
this work to them: Jessé Sadoc (trumpet and flugelhorn), Danilo Sinna (alto sax), Marcelo Martins (tenor sax and flute), Rafael Rocha (trombone), Jorge Helder (double bass),
Rafael Barata (drums and percussion) and, this time, Ricardo Silveira (guitar).

My original compositions - some with lyricist partners Tiberio Gaspar, Alan and Marilyn Bergman, Nelson Wellington and Marietta Waters - here recorded entirely as instrumentals, run through
different musical styles that inhabit Brazilian music: samba, baiao, bossa, partido alto, quadrilha, toada, calango, maracatu and more...

I hope you enjoy my new album, "OCTET AND ORIGINALS"!!
