O's Notes: Brazilian jazz pianist Antonio Adolfo was initially inspired, and then cut his teeth as a teenage professional in Rio’s Beco das Garrafes (Bottles Alley), the home of four nightclubs from 1958-1965. Little Club, Bacarat, and Bottles were focused on samba and bossa nova. Adolfo reflects on those times as key in his musical development and dedicates Samba Jazz Alley to that time, space and countless mentoring musicians. There are nine classic selections including “Obrigado", an Adolfo original. Other highlights are “Corcovado", “Hello Herbie", The Frog" and “Passarim".
