Vocalist Carol Saboya joins together with Hendrik Meurkens/harm-vibe and Antonio Adolfo/p to lead a bouncy Brazilian team of Claudio Spiewak/g, Itaiguara Brandao/b, Adriano Santos/dr and Andre Siqueira/perc through a collection of bossas both original and standard. Saboya’s voice is Gilberto soft on “Ipanema" and “Agua De Beber" while she can also say a lot without lyrics as on “Copa Villate." Adolfo’s piano does wonders with “O Boto" while Hendrik brings good vibes to “Show de Boia." Meurkens’ harmonica creates some sensuous tension on “Nosso Mundo" and of course, it’s the ballads that bring out the best in Brazilia; “Pois E" and Como se Fosse" have Saboya sparkling on the delivery while the understated groove is deliciously served. Some of these tunes you may have heard a million times, but you never get tired of them. You always want more.
