BruMa: Celebrating Milton Nascimento, by Dick Metcalf – Contemporary Music Review

High energy jazz celebration Antonio Adolfo – BRUMA/CELEBRATING MILTON NASCIMENTO:   Antonio’s piano is a regular here… I most recently reviewed his “Samba Jazz Alley” album, where he got very high marks indeed.  The player list is far too long to itemize here, so check it out on the AAM website.  Though the video is from six years ago, you can still get a very stimulating look at Antonio’s LIVE performance mode on this splendid video…

…of course, be sure to SUBSCRIBE to Antonio’s YouTube channel, where you’ll find more performances and albums to enjoy.

I didn’t find a “pre-release” page (the album releases officially on 22 June, 2020), but I’ll tell you that lively songs like the 4:56 “Caxanga” will be an “instant hit” for jazz DJ’s all across the globe… this tune will be spinning regularly!

If you’re looking for tunes that will make you “dance the night away“, you’ll find “Cancao do Sal (Salt Song)“, authored by Milton, very much to your liking… I just loved this tune, and you will too.

What stands out most strikingly on all albums by Antonio is his superb “touch” on the piano keyboards… that really hit home for me on the fabulous closer, “Tristesse” (Sadness)… Antonio’s piano weave with all the other instruments is both poignant and brilliant – very SOULFUL!

I give Antonio and all his players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99 for this highly engaging album.  Get more information on Antonio’s page for the release.                         Rotcod Zzaj
